Avoid Windows credential prompt on externalized site

ISSUE: The website is not trusted by the web browser (IE, Firefox, Chrome)

SYMPTOMS: The website with an externally accessible address (eg. https://my.intranetsite.com) gets prompts in browser.

RESOLUTION:

IE, Chrome:

1. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options > Security > Trusted Sites > Sites.  Add the address to the zone.

2. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options > Security > Trusted Sites > Custom level.  At the option User Authentication, choose Automatic logon with current user name and password.

Note: A network administrator may also want to apply these rules as a Group Policy, so they apply to all users.

Firefox

1. Click the Icon for options (Three horizontal lines) > Options > Security > Exceptions. Add the address of the site.
