Your Intranet site will come with a bunch of different widgets which are available to be placed on your home page and other areas of the site.
The Anniversary widget provides site administrators with a method of informing users of upcoming employee anniversaries. Employees must have a user profile associated with an Employee Profiles record in order to be listed on this widget.
The application feed widget displays recently published content from one or more similar applications based on publish date.
The Birthday widget provides site administrators with a method of informing users of upcoming employee birthdays. Employees must have a user profile associated with an Employee Profiles record in order to be listed on this widget.
The Blogs Feed widget is used for displaying recent Blogs which have been posted in the Blogs Application. When creating this widget type there will be a pick list for choosing the Blog Application along with any recent Blogs that have been posted within that Application.
Bookmarks & Links
The Bookmarks & Links widget provides users who are currently logged into the site a way to save Intranet bookmarks along with any Internet bookmarks.
The Custom Code widget is used for inserting custom code which you want to display within the widget. When modifying this widget type there will be a box labelled Code which is where the custom code is inserted.
The Daily Tips widget is used by site administrators to display Daily Tips which can be customized by the admin that display to the users.
When adding the Daily Tips widget there will be an option to add/edit tips. Clicking this will give you the option to add as many Tips as you want, which can have a custom Interval (Hourly, Daily ect). Tips can also be removed/edited at any time from the add/edit tips section. There is also an option for importing Tips from a .csv file.
The Department Advertising widget is used for displaying content that has been added to the Message Box widget within that Department Site with the option Advertise enabled.
When creating this type of widget you will have the option for choosing which Department you want to display content from, you can also select multiple Department Sites.
Department Sites are created under the Applications tab in the Admin section. After creating a Department Site you can add a Message Box widget and add content to the Message box field and enable the option Advertise. After enabling Advertise and saving the Message Box widget if you check the Department Advertising widget you added it will display that content.
The Employee Profile widget will display the most recently added employees or a random selection of employees from the application. When setting up this widget you will have the choice of selecting a specific category to display or selecting the option "Select All" will choose all categories. There are several other options for displaying the employees at random, job description, personal information as well.
Employees are entered via the Employee Directory. When opening the Employee Directory you will have the option to add an Employee, after adding an Employee and assigning them a category when you view the Employee Profile widget depending on the category selected you will see this Employee in the list.
The Flash Embed widget is used for adding a custom flash file which can be displayed within the widget.
The Image widget is used for uploading a custom Image of your choice that will display within this widget. After uploading the Image you are able to set a custom dimension or leaving it blank will use the true Image size.
The Live Chat widget is used for allowing your Employees to chat between each other. Chat must be turned on in order for this widget to display this can be found under site settings under the global settings menu. Chat must also be turned on for the Employee themselves, this can be found on their Employee Login. After adding some Employees to the Chat widget when those Employees login if they are available they will be able to chat between each other.
This widget is great for inserting into Departments where Employees part of that Department can chat between each other.
The menu widget lets you create links to various items in your intranet. Menu links are automatically hidden from users who don't have permission to the linked items.
The Message Box widget is used for displaying a custom message within the widget. The message box while editing will contain an HTML editor which can be used to add custom html content. There is also options for a display start and end date.
The My Profile widget will display information about the current logged in user if they currently have a Profile associated with the Login. Included in this widget as well will be short cuts to specific areas of the site such as: Alerts, Status, My Profile.
The quick polls widget lets you quickly get feedback from the entire company using a poll.
The RSS Feed widget is used for displaying content from an RSS Feed. When creating this type of widget there will be a field for the RSS Adress. After entering the RSS Address when you save the newly created RSS Feed widget will display the content from the RSS Address.
The Site Tags widget is used for displaying the most popular tags across all applications which are within public categories. When creating an item within an application depending on the site options you will be able to add specific tags, these tags depending on their popularity will display on the Site Tags widget.
The Status Updates widget is used for displaying the most recent status updated from your employees. The status updates will display in recent order.
Status updates are done directly from the Employee Profile itself. When the user is logged in when they go to their Employee Profile (accessed via My Hub or Employee Directory) they will have the option to update their current Status. After updating their Status this will display on the Status Updates widget.
This type of widget also has additional options for hiding the current status message and only displaying the Icon & the associated message part of that Icon.
The tags feed widget displays new content, based on published date, from multiple applications that match the tags specified.
The User Login widget is used for users to log into the site. This option will only be available when accessing the site anonymously, otherwise this widget will be hidden and the only area to login would be the main login page for the site.
The Weather widget is used for displaying the current weather forecast for the desired location. The location can be entered as the full city name or the zip code.
The What's New widget displays content this is advertised from different applications. Item display is based on advertise on date and advertising archive date.
The Wall Feed widget is used for displaying recent content that has been published from any Employees Walls via the Employee Directory.
When creating this widget you will have the ability to select custom users to display content from or you can select by Department. Selecting the option All Departments will show all Wall posts from any Department.
There are several other options for controlling the content within the Wall Feed. You can Strip HTML which means that it will remove any custom HTML from the Post and you can also hide the Employee Photo. These options are great for saving extra room.
The Wall itself is located within the Employee Directory under each Employees Profile. When the user logs in if they have a Profile associated with their Login when they open My Hub or Employee Directory they will have an option for Wall which loads their respective Wall. Any posts made here will be filtered straight to the Wall Feed depending on if this user was selected during the setup, or their respective Department.
