This is your application settings area of your kudos app. On the right hand side click on “build form” to build your kudos form.
Drag in an employee field, and remove the following fields: additional notes, file attachment, link attachment, publish on, and archive on (unless you want any of those). Rename Employee to “Employee” and Created by to “Nominated by”. Change the Title field to “Why?” And drag and drop it below the Employee field. Rename the message box field “details”. We can click the small edit icon to the right of the nominee/employee field, and choose “enable user notification”. This will enable the user receiving the recognition to be notified by email of their nomination. We can also choose whether or not the person nominating can edit the message that goes out to the employee that has been nominated. Once set up is complete, your form will look like this:
Now we want to create our nomination list view. When users click into the Employee Recognition application this is the view they will see of all nominated employees. Click on “list view” over on the right-hand side of the page. Choose Layout Type: Table, save, and then hit “edit fields”. We want to change this view so that we have four columns: Employee, Why?, Nominated By, and Ratings/comments.
This is the layout for the list view. We can determine which order items are sorted in by expanding “sorting” located right above “layout”. We will probably want our Primary Sort to be Created Date, but you could also sort by Ratings, or Nominee.
Now we want to set up our folders. If there is only one folder in an application, when clicking into that application the user will land into that folder. On the right hand side click on “folders/security”, click into folder 2 and delete the folder. Then click into folder 1 and rename the folder kudos Nominations, and save.
Now we hit “go to app” and add in our first nomination to test it out! After saving we are taken to the item view of the recognition. To view the list view we can click the breadcrumb back to “Nominations”, which will list our nominations like this:
Create a message box widget on the home page with a link to the application.
- In the list view of your application shown above, copy the URL
- Add new message box widget to the home page. Find an image you like and add the image to the message box, along with a short blurb like “kudos nominations” or Specialty Food Association's suggestion "Thank Differently".
- Highlight the text and click on the little world icon in the message box with the link around it. Scroll down to widget theme options and choose “no header”, and save
Under My toolbox > application settings, click on advertising options, choose “default to advertise now”, and choose a default image to appear when employees are nominated. Nominations will show up in the What’s New feed on the home page.
If you want all users to be able to add nominations, you will need to click into your application.
12.0: Go to application toolbox > application settings, and click on Folders/security on the right hand side.
12.5 & 13.0: Go to application toolbox > manage folders > Click into your folder and beside folder security OFF hit [apply].
We want to turn on Global Add – you may also want to turn on global edit if you would like employees to be able to go into their kudos and edit their nomination.
If you want to be able to monitor content that is added to this application you can click back into your folder and beside content approval OFF choose [assign]. Here you can enable content approval and choose your approval managers, and your workflow approval options.
