Installing ColdFusion 8 32-bit on a 64-bit Server

You will need to enable 32-bit emulation mode for the application pool that is running the intranet site.  The instructions for this are as follows:

Open IIS manager, go to application pools, select the pool that is being used for the intranet site (if using the default website, this will be the defaultapppool), select advanced settings and set ‘Enable 32-Bit Applications’ to True.

Your site should now function properly.

If you are running on a 64-bit server, it is recommended to upgrade to ColdFusion 9.  This version of ColdFusion is designed to run natively and supported in 64-bit environments.
