What is my SQL Server Version?

Intranet Connections v11 requires a SQL Server 2005+ database. Just a note: Accessing your SQL instance with SQL Enterprise Manager is a indication that you are running SQL Server 2000. The following information should help you determine the version of your MSSQL database using SQL Server Management Studio:

SQL Server Version

  1. Open Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
  2. Connect to the appropriate SQL instance
  3. Locate the top server node on the Object Explorer [left side]
  4. Note the SQL Server number on the top node
SQBOX1.png5. Go to

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321185 and find the SQL Server version that corresponds to the number noted above.

You may, when upgrading to Version 11.0, experience an issue where a database which is located in a 2005 or 2008 instance throws a compatibility error indicating that the upgrade is not supported for databases on SQL 2000. If you encounter this issue, see the following article (https://support.intranetconnections.com/entries/20505446)
